Most first time clients have many questions when they first decide to have their furniture upholstered. Here are the answers to some commonly asked questions that clients have when they first come to Kessels' Upholstering. 1. Who should get upholstering done?

Anyone that has furniture that they do not want to replace, but feel is in too poor a condition to be used. Almost all of us has a favourite chair, or chesterfield that is in pretty rough shape, but refuse to part with. Often this is a piece that was given to us by a favourite relative, or is a family heirloom. A piece like that could very easily become the centrepiece of any room after being upholstered at Kessels Upholstering.

2. Why should I have my furniture upholstered?

To retain a valuable piece of quality furniture, without the cost of purchasing new furniture of the same quality. Why would anyone want to spend more money on furniture of inferior quality to that of what they already own?

3. How long does it take to have my furniture upholstered?

Once a client has chosen their fabric, the actual amount of time required to upholster the furniture varies only on the number of pieces involved. A 2 or 3 piece suite usually only takes 5 to 10 business days. And if you need your furniture done for a special event, we can see to it that you have your furniture back in even less time.

4. Which fabric is best for my furniture?

The choice of fabric is up to the individual tastes of the client, but if you have any difficulties or questions, our staff can give you the answers you need.

5. When is the best time to have my furniture upholstered?

There is no best time to have your furniture upholstered. We will work around your schedule, but many clients will have their furniture upholstered while they are on holiday, so that when they return, they come home to a completely refreshed home.

6. How do I get my furniture to Kessels' Upholstering?

Leave that to us. We take the worry out of the pick-up and delivery of furniture. At Kessels' Upholstering we pick-up your furniture and deliver it again, free of charge (within the greater Ottawa area).

7. Can I just have my furniture repaired?

Yes you can. Accidents happen, and if one happens to your furniture, say while moving, we can completely repair your furniture to its original condition.

8. Can I have the style of my furniture changed?

Yes you can. If you wish to change the style of your furniture to something more modern, or more classical, our craftspeople can bring your dreams to reality.

9. How much will upholstering cost?

Upholstering can cost as much, or as little as you wish. At Kessels' Upholstering we make sure that our clients get the best quality upholstering service available, and still stay within their budgets. Upholstering is the best, and most cost effective alternative to purchasing new quality furniture.
